![]() Arran is a barrister-at-law working in Dublin, Ireland and on the South Eastern circuit (Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford and Tipperary). He is a member of the Panel of Adjudicators of the Private Residential Tenancies Board; a member of the Panel of Arbitrators of Just Sport Ireland and a member of WIPO's list of arbitrators. Arran is also a member of the Panel of Arbitrators of the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration and a Member of the Panel of Arbitrators of the Chambre Arbitrale Maritime De Monaco.
In 2003 he was called to the Bar in Dublin, in 2006 in Belfast, he was called by the Middle Temple, London in 2007 and was registered to appear in the Dubai International Financial Centre Courts in 2008. He is a Door Tenant at Guildford Chambers and a member of Clerksroom as an Arbitrator. Arran became a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in 2006, having been a Member of the Institute since 2003; he obtained his accredited mediator status in 2004. He has full rights of audience in the Republic of Ireland and appears regularly in a range of courts in both civil and criminal matters. Arran has been a member of the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement's Legal Panel since 2008 and a member of the Refugee Legal Service Panel of Barristers since 2004.
Arran has been an occassional law lecturer since 2004 and has taught 157 classroom hours he has worked at Dublin City University in the Business School, School of Computing and the School of Law and Government. He has also tutored in European law and ADR at the Law Society of Ireland. He is a member of the Panel of Examiners and Tutors of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Arran has written twelve articles for Irish and English legal journals and has reported around 150 cases for the Employment Law Reports, Irish Current Law Monthly Digest and the Irish Times. He serves on the committee of the Irish Society for European Law, the ISEL's Competition Law Forum sub-committee, a sub-committee of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Ireland Branch and was on a Working Group for the June 11, 2008 Young Arbitration Practitioners Conference in Dublin. Arran organised the 4th, 5th and 6th annual Brian Walsh Memorial Lectures which were given by Professor William Binchy, Dr. Maurice Manning and Turlough O'Donnell S.C respectively.
He went to school in Berkshire, England. After school he attended University College, Dublin, and whilst there he was a student in the Faculty of Arts and then at the Centre for European Economics and Public Affairs. Following UCD he was a student at the Honoroble Society of King's Inns. He twice represented King's Inns on the RTE TV quiz 'Challenging Times'. In his first two years at the Bar he completed a LL.M degree in European Union (Commercial) law on a part time basis, at the University of Leicester, and also went to the Hague Academy of International Law. He holds Diplomas in Stockbroking Investment, Arbitration and International Commerical Arbitration.
